We are the JDK's and we love our HLH! Animals are our life, and we would do anything for them. Between our adoptable guests staying with us and a pretty good-sized equine family of our own, we stay pretty darn busy! Perhaps we will seek volunteer help at some point. Wonder if there is an interest for that?

With extra full hearts, we are so honored to introduce the kindest animals to you. Please meet Mason and Grayson, 7-year-old blind mini horse geldings. This duo has been through so much and we are very eager to get going and help them! They love to be loved, and we are so happy to be their parents.

Meet the Reason for our Mission
Buttons and Bella
Introducing the two horses who started ALL OF THIS!! Buttons and Bella; a sibling duo who were rescued out of the KP. Buttons was just a weanling standing in a kill-buy auction with his pregnant-again mama who was carrying Bella at the time. Immeasurable thanks for the original rescuer to have pulled them out. Their story sparked our mission.

Hanky Pooh
From Hotel Guest as an available adoptable animal to becoming a permanent resident with the Happy Lil' Herd, Hanky Pooh officially became a Kramer on April 13th, 2026. We advocate for the importance of bonded pairs, and Hank was a solo guy who stole our hearts and clicked with our herd. He has lots of friends now, and Zippy as a fellow Mini Donk!

Meet Button's full sister, Bella! We adopted her as a weanling once she was fully confident to leave mom. She then joined Buttons on becoming a Kramer, and we went on to make big, bold moves for these inspirational premier animals. Happy 6th Birthday to Bella in August!
